Senaste vs Menso: AI usability testing compared
Both send an AI visitor through your live site and hand you notes for an AI coding tool. Menso sends one user who can log in with the details you give it. Senaste sends a panel of different people and never sends a form.
Checked on 5 November 2026 against the public pages of Menso.
Menso fits better if
- You need an AI user to sign up or log in to your live product and walk the flow behind the log-in.
- You want to watch a replay of each step with the visitor thinking aloud.
- A fixed number of tests every month suits the way you work.
- Your team tests builds that are not live from a Mac.
Senaste fits better if
- You want many different people on the same task, to see where they part ways, not one route.
- You test on phones and tablets as well as on desktop.
- Nothing may be sent, ordered or paid for on your live site, and runs should go only to domains proved yours.
- You test now and then, and want credits that never expire instead of a monthly plan.
- You want to start runs from your own code through an API.
Question by question
| Question | Senaste | Menso |
|---|---|---|
| How you pay | Packs of credits, one credit per persona. No subscription, and credits never expire. | Monthly plans: Pro at $29 for 12 tests and Max at $69 for 30. Unused tests do not roll over; 5 extra tests cost $15 and do not expire. |
| Free start | 10 credits at sign-up, no card, with the full report. | 3 tests a month on the free plan, no card. The report shows the first 3 friction points. |
| Price of one unit | From $0.41 to $0.63 per persona, depending on the pack. | About $2.42 per test on Pro, by their own count. |
| Visitors in one test | Up to 30 different personas on the same task in one run. | One AI user per test, on one route. |
| Who the visitors are | 18 ready-made personas, AI personas drawn from your home page or your customer notes, or ones you write. Each has traits you can tune: intent, tech comfort, patience, trust and budget. | Menso reads the product from its address and writes the persona and the task, or you start from a template. |
| Devices | Phone, tablet and desktop browsers, set per persona. | Not stated on their pages. |
| Sign-up and log-in | Not tested on a live site: forms are not sent and password and card fields stay empty. On a test host of yours, test payment mode lets visitors send forms and pay with Stripe test cards. | The AI user signs up or logs in with an email and password you give it, and pauses for up to two hours for a verification code. Google sign-in is not supported yet. |
| Which sites it runs on | Only domains you prove are yours, by a DNS record, a file or a meta tag. | Not stated on their pages. |
| The report | Notes by severity, a screenshot of every step, the path of each persona, where the panel dropped off, a score from 0 to 100 and an SEO check of the pages they opened. | A replay of every step with the AI user thinking aloud, and a TRACES score from 0 to 100 across six dimensions. |
| Hand-off to AI coding tools | A fix file with the notes, written to hand to an AI coding tool. | A fix prompt for each friction point, to paste into Claude Code, Codex or Cursor. |
| Sharing and export | A share link, and export to PDF or Markdown, in every pack. | Replay share links; PDF export on Pro and Max. |
| API | A REST API that starts runs and reads results, on the same credits. | Not stated on their pages. |
| Builds that are not live yet | A test host of yours that is reachable from the internet, such as staging.example.com, once you verify it. | Menso Studio, a Mac desktop app for company teams. |
| Where pages are processed | On our own servers, by a model we run ourselves. Pages are not sent to public AI services. | Not stated on their pages. |
| Languages | Reports in 6 languages, and each persona has its own browser language. | Not stated on their pages. |

Questions people ask
Is a Menso test the same as a Senaste credit?
No. A Menso test is one AI user walking one route. A Senaste credit is one persona for up to 20 steps, from $0.41, so ten personas cost ten credits and show ten routes on the same task.
Which one can test pages behind a log-in?
Menso, with an email and password you give it. Senaste leaves password fields empty on a live site; on a test host of yours, test payment mode lets its visitors send forms.
Can I use both on one site?
Yes. Menso says it needs no code or tracking snippet. Senaste needs you to prove the domain once, by a DNS record, a file or a meta tag. Our test visitors carry the header X-UX-Panel: ai-test, so you can tell them apart in your analytics.
How did you check the facts about Menso?
From the Menso pages linked below, on the date shown. Where those pages say nothing, the table says so rather than guessing. If something here is out of date, write to support@senaste.ai and we will correct the page.
